PR does matter to your traffic and Adsense

Ok, I have seen enough of the denial stance adopted by many bloggers who got smacked by Google. Normal human beings are like that. If they cannot face something, they will go into denial mode or defensive mode. So, all keep chanting, PR doesn’t matter. Many still have the mob mentality. Just because JohnChow said Google won’t matter, they think the same, forgetting that their blogs are nothing like John’s.

Actually, it is much easier to join the mob, i.e. those who are boycotting Google and keep each other spirit up with empty promises of something that has not been proven. It is much easier to cope that way.

But let this blog be the sacrificial lamb. I will burst all your bubbles. I am going to tell you that PR does matter. It just too bad that we cannot do anything about it. If you want the money from paid posts and TLA, it is a Catch 22 situation. Between the devil and the deep blue sea.

That’s why I took the courageous act of dropping money and opt for PR. People said I am chasing PR for ego. Those bitches out there definitely are blinded to money and they don’t know nuts about how the internet operates. Fark, they don’t even know who are some of the A-List bloggers and who are the ones who can make or break a company with just one blog post. So, this post is definitely not for you. Keep on writing your paid posts (not that you have any) and go on hoping for the realwanker to come and save you. Good luck.

Meanwhile, those of you with some common sense, this post is for you.

5xmom_PR_drop

The above is my blog traffic from September till today. In September, my unique hits was around 900 and some days it even went up to 1K. I was a PR 4/10 then. Then, just before the first smack of PR 4/10 to PR 2/10, the traffic keep dropping. Then, I got an increase again at PR3/10. And then, zoom all the way to zero. Now, I am lucky if I can get over 400 unique hits. I rely mostly on organic traffic because I pwned in many keywords. Organic traffic drives the most Adsense income.

Some of the misconceptions or dare I say the dumbest things I heard from people in the denial mode are :

1) PR doesn’t matter
2) I don’t rely on Google
3) My traffic is mostly from referrals
4) There are Yahoo and MSN
5) When there is a realwanker, Google PR can go die

Well, things don’t happen overnight. It may take us a few more years until someone better than Google comes along. If you remember, it takes years for Firefox to take over IE. And Firefox is still behind IE in terms of percentage of users. So, do you seriously think your blog can last that long?

You may wonder, if you get back your PR and yet, you cannot monetize your site, what good is it? Well, how do you know that I won’t be able to monetize? People will come up with many new and innovative ways in monetizing our blogs.

Sorry that this may sounds harsh but a lot of people had been misled with a few who are in denial mode. Wake up from your slumber. We cannot have our PR and money from paid posts. Well…unless you have several blogs and have your income spread out. Like me who didn’t put my eggs in one basket.

Now, if you have a few blogs, do yourself this favour. Try to clean up at least one blog that matters most to you. AndrewOoi is doing it. My earlier post on salvage pr may help too.

So, are you going to at least try to clean up your act of no more paid posts?

I noticed that your text are aligned on the right side of your adsense. On my blog I find that irritating so I used the the paragraph tag to separate the text and adsense :
    <p>
    — google adsense code —
    </p>

You can use it too if you want. Edit that in the Sylock adsense text box.

PR is important to paid bloggers as different posts requires different PR am i right? and the money offered is different too. Thats logical.

And is Google trying to monopolize the market by doing this because they know they are king. Imagine Yahoo invented PR. Would we care as much?

I hope this will resolve quickly.

I agree it matters to me as well. I wanted my blog to be a legitimate resource to justify all of the hours I put into it. I was thrilled with the update when I got a PR 4. Since then it’s been dropped to 2 and then 0. My traffic has decreased and it’s ruining my blogging street cred as well as my blog enthusiasm. I’ve been deleting any posts that I think might be the source of penalties. I’ve noticed on the PPP boards a lot of people didn’t even know their PR dropped until PPP did a blog update. Some of the people saying it doesn’t matter aren’t even aware of their own page rank until someone else tells them. Anyway good post. I hope we get our rank back soon.

Most of those who didn’t know about their PR may
not have installed the Google toolbar. Just a guess.
Those who are saying it doesn’t matter are just
going through knee-jerk reaction after the big drop.

After this post, let’s see more making a U-turn. Up
till now, if you don’t have at least PR3, you won’t
have any chance of grabbing PPP opps that’s worth writing about.

To work around this problem, just create more blogs and make money. When google comes to ‘kacau’ you, you fill these PR 0 blogs with a million backlinks to Google. Give google a thousand entries into your blogroll…. Guarantee Google PR will also drop to ZERO. hahahahahaaa

Now my PPP has 0 opportunities,

last 2 months, I made $500 each month just by PPP

I see some blog got unranked – even worse than PR0

I wanted to convert one of my site to become an affiliate center, since it has traffic from search engine, but there are several hundreds of paid posts… howla delete one by one.. :(

aih… maybe I should just create another bunch of these ‘blogs’ and repeat the past…

I think that’s it’s a good idea to clean one of your flagship blog

The only way the PR thing can be resolved is if Google buys over PPP. Its no doubt, Google are obviously killing other advertising companies simply because they are not Adsense simple as that.

I wont be surprised if Google Zero ranks sites who uses Widgetbucks.

The more Google trust your site
    the higher the PR.
Women get higher ranking because they
    tell the truth.
Men always afraid to tell the truth.

PR is important. The most damning thing is that with ZERO, although our sites are still indexing like previously, all sponsors will notice is the ZERO. And we don’t even know if G will delist us from the index or not.

Also, Zero is like being marooned, we are neither here nor there. For those starting new blogs, make sure that you don’t use Ad.Sense or Analytics. You won’t want to be caught before you even start lol

One of the few posts that actually talks sense. I am quite happy because my earnings actually went up after the Google PR update – I guess at the expense of other posties whose blog pr dropped.
