If I get this every month, I will gladly pay my taxes. Anyway, I guess yearly, Nuffnang will need to give us a statement or something on our total income through Nuffnang so that we can submit our tax. Bah! I don’t care about such thing because I am married to an accountant to deal with my tax.

Nope, the above is not for a single month income. It includes some advertorials too.

Talking about advertorials, there is nothing that pissed me more than tactless bloggers, commentors, regular readers who will ask openly in the same post if my post is a sponsored post. Hey, wake up lah, we are not required by the law to disclose yet. Why go make your own life difficult because you are also a blogger. And so what if it is a paid post? Are you paying me to blog? No, mah, rite? So, why do you need to know? Does it make my post any less interesting? Do you pick only non-paid posts to read? You either take my integrity that whatever I wrote is reliable information that I believed to be true or you don’t read my blog lah, ok?

And that’s not the end of the tactless people who makes life difficult for us bloggers. Some will come by and promote competitor brands or purported using someone’s name and recommend some other brands. Hey, folks, note this. Our blogs are paid for with our own money and you are reading for free. Do you think you can go into Dumex shop and try to sell Nespray? Cannot mah? Use common sense a bit lah.

Payment from LinkXL - selling text link the no-follow way

I blogged about LinkXL which I described as the safe way to sell links in our old posts. You have a choice of selling the links using no-follow or follow. On some of my blogs, I put no-follow tags and I managed to sell many links too. Of course, I cannot reveal which blogs are monetized with LinkXL but trust me, if you are previously a paid post blogger, you do get offers.

However, note that you may have some agreement with those paid post companies that the posts remain forever and you cannot add any links into those paid posts. So, watch what you have committed before putting in LinkXL.

If you are a blogger using your own Wordpress.org blog, then, you merely need to install the plugin and sit back and wait for advertisers to buy them. The links go into the keywords in your posts. This means, you will have hundreds of potential links to be sold.

And if your blog has internal pagerank in those single posts, you can sell them for very good price. For example, if I have a PR3/10 internal pagerank, I can offer to sell a link for say, USD30 per month. If that page commands a good position in the search results, then, you can sell them for even more.

wOOt! My all-time income rankings on PayPerPost went up!

I had been expecting to get kick out of the PayPerPost all time top earners top ten list for a few months already. I have stopped writing paid posts for PayPerPosts lately because it is a decision I made. The test of faith to see if I have the will to blog even if I am not making money. Moreover, I went through two very busy and tough months during May and April and I cannot manage the thought of making money on top of all the obligations I had to do.

But surprise, surprise, my ranking on the 10th position was somehow pushed up to the eighth. I think PayPerPost added my PayPerPost Direct income plus the referral fees income which caused me to rise again.

So, let me enjoy this little moment before I am totally gone from the top ten positions as PayPerPost top earners.

It won’t be long now before my face disappeared……I have only USD9 pending in PayPerPost. That is nine freaking US dollars and not 9K, ok?

Gone were the days when I used to make USD1,500 per month from PayPerPost alone.

So, did I lose anything now that I have only USD9? No. I had made USD14K in over a year. Now, I have my other means of making money. But ultimately, the satisfaction is knowing that with the USD14K, I can easily put at least two of my sons through college. My eldest son’s professional chef diploma costs RM30K for 2 years 6 months. And thank God that I am so blessed to learn as I earn while I share what I know. I know I had inspired a lot of other people to make money as well. I just hope they know how to appreciate what they had earned and not what they had missed out. Count your blessings, folks. Happiness comes in many ways, not just making money.

It’s Google payday again

Money. Many people died over it. A lot of people got conned and scammed by the lure of it. People are always searching for ‘how to make money without money’ or ‘how to scam to make money’.

We can make money without money. But we need a lot of hard work to make money.

If we are not greedy, willing to work hard, stay focus and update ourselves every day, we can make money.

But people are always greedy like these ants. I was sitting in my car when I took the above two photos. I had a cup of Milo with me and I do not know why the ants died. Probably they got drowned in the sweet Milo? Too much of a good thing is not good anymore?

Anyway, it is payday for all Google Adsense publishers. Well, not all but those who are getting more than USD100 per month because Google only issue payment after your income is above USD100. Make sure you buy yourself something nice with that money you make. And buy something nice for others too.

Another milestone - 10K at NN

I will keep this discreet. But still, it is a big milestone to remember. I have touched 10K at NN! Yay! It is over a period of more than one year. Still it is a good way to monetize our site.

Phweett!!! Bring out the tuak. Hahaha, I dare not put screenshot because I am not sure if it is ok with Tim and Ming to show it. However, good news like this must share, right?

Happy Labour Day

It is a holiday here in Malaysia on May 1st because it is Labour Day. From what I understand, not every country celebrates Labor or Labour Day on May 1st. So to those who is having a holiday today, Happy Labour Day.

Labour Day sounds like we are labourers. And indeed we are. We labour for money, we labour for the hapiness of our family, we labour for our vision and many other things. So, it is really a nice day to reward ourselves for the hard work we put in the whole year, isn’t it?

Meanwhile, May 1st means I will be receiving payments from TextLinkAds and ReviewMe. Tomorrow, being a Friday means more money coming in from other paid post companies.

Beginning of the month also means closing the income of last month. April 2008 has been good to me. Income increases and so does pageranks.

At the same time, a new month means new apprehension. Unlike other labourers (aka people who are employed), we do not not know what the month holds for us. I have a few basic income and that is only about 1/3 of my monthly income. Therefore, to earn the other 2/3, it depends on luck, hard work and most of all, smart strategy i.e. doing something right at the right time.

Yesterday, I checked my adsense and was totally elated because 2 clicks brought me close to USD11. I sat there trying to figure out what exactly are those magic keywords. My normal clicks are mostly 10-30 USD cents. Some are only USD 1 cent but oh well, it is still money.

Again, Happy Labour Day and may the month of May brings us lots of make money opportunities!

Are your blogs income picking up again?

Last year, bloggers have a very good income from blogging. They earn from several ways like Google Adsense, TextLinkAds, doing paid reviews and also selling banner ads.

However, Google put its foot down and almost every blogger’s income was affected. My own income drop from USD5K per month to an all time low of USD1,500.

Well, I didn’t depend on my blog income as survival and hence, it wasn’t that scary to me. That’s why I have the calmness to take stock, make amends with Google, find new revenues and re-invent my blogging strategies.

It also cause me to work harder, improve my blogs, spend more time analysing and basically, plod on with the hope of going back to the glory of making a five digit income (in RM) again.

I did turn to God when things were crashing down. PR disappeared. Traffic dropped. Getting de-indexed. Rankings on the search results folded to nowhere. I fixate my focus that the Lord will provide as and when I need them. True enough, the faith I profess, “Give us our daily bread” stands firm.

So, yes, my blog income has picked up since the Google smackdown. It is not yet at its peak but I am seeing brighter days now.

What about you? Have you recovered from the last Google smackdown? Or do you totally dropped all your blogs and leave them to get mouldy and rotten? I have seen many a good bloggers who made the mistake of giving up too fast. They threw away their blog persona to eke out a few bucks. They lost faith. They lost direction. It is very sad to see people giving up hope so fast.

Remember my advice - Tend to your blog like your garden. It will bloom again.

For me, I am now focussed on ‘If I can earn another few more dollars, I can add them up to my four son’s college and university education. The more I earn, the better college we can afford.’ That gives me the motivation to actually work and not just treat the dollars and cents I made as mere numbers.
