Thinking ahead to make money from blogging

I was popping these mint coated M&Ms into my mouth and decided to apply these seasonal trend trick into my blogging topic today.

I guess all the business websites are already aware of this. But many bloggers who have niche blogs may failed to capture this spike in traffic. A few days before Christmas, my food blogs enjoyed very good trafffic and that directly translated into good ads income as well.

Like M&M, I have anticipated the rush to celebrate Christmas. I kept wrting about turkeys, roasting, Christmas dinner and all things related to Christmas. True enough, all the housewives and cooks around the world were really looking for last minute recipes and many came to my blogs. I also edited some of my previous years posts and added some new things into them.

So, remember to anticipate events and be ahead of the other sites. Another example is the World Cup 2006. I knew a few male footballers are going to be on many women’s wet dreams and searches and I hunted for naked Fabio, naked Ronaldinho (ewwss) photos and made some catchy posts. True enough, during the World Cup, I enjoyed another spike in ads income that was over USD700 per month. Too bad World Cup only happens once every two years (or is it four?).

Well, for blogs like this one about make money blogging, there is really nothing to gain. No event interests people enough.

But for the sake of Christmas, I did take a photo of my red WordPress t-shirt, Santa’s hat and a tiny Santa hat for the middle finger. It won’t make me money but it is in the spirit of Christmas, which is over. Pheww…I hope New Year comes soon and is over too because I lost my blogging momentum after too much holidays.
