How to add gravatars?

Do you see some of the blogs which have gravatars of their commentors? Cool, right? What is gravatar? It is global avatar. What is avatar? It is that little pic of yours.

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an 80×80 pixel avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?

If your blog theme does not include gravatars, you can add the WordPress plugin. I got mine from this Gravatar2 by Kip Bond.

However, I cannot guarantee that the plugin can work for you theme.

But wait, you need to add your gravatar somewhere. So, this is where you go to add your beautiful photo – http://site.gravatar.com/.

Sign up for an account, upload your pic.

Then, you can expect that little pic to appear in all those blogs which support gravatar. My personal blog has it. Please go add your pic to gravatar.com and I shall ‘see’ you there!

Did I tell you it is free and painlessly easy to upload? Even if your blog doesn’t have gravatar, your pic will still appear on others.

gravatar will promote better comment imo since the author image will be displayed just right/left beside the comment. anyway, nice post! ;)
