WidgetBucks – Many questions Asian asked

I have two bloggers who wrote to me about the WidgetBucks earnings. Have you ever seen or encounter a person who tries to give bad news? Your friend, your boss or some people who knows you are not going to be happy when you hear what they are going to say/ Well, that’s what I feel now. Sitting on the chair, adjusting the butt, clasp the hand, scratch the nose, fidget somemore and wham…here’s the bad news….

Actually, I was one of the few lucky ones who made over USD50 in the first month they launched. So, yeah, I did promote it again and again and again. Now, I guess I have to give the bad news that the show is over for us who live outside of the USA and Canada.

Starting tomorrow (Nov. 15), clicks coming from outside the U.S. and Canada on WidgetBucks widgets will no longer be charged to merchants, and therefore, no publisher credit will be given for those clicks.

I knew about this earlier but I choose to hang on because I want to test out and see if we really cannot make a cent. And the second excuse is I am too lazy to remove the widgets from so many blogs. However, I did remove the sidebar widget and just place one small one on the single page.

The other thing is you may find it harder to get admitted into WidgetBucks :

Second, early next week, WidgetBucks will become a “gated” ad network that will require approval to join. For current publishers, this does not change much for you. You are “grandfathered” into the network; however, we will continue to review sites for Terms violations.

And the third bad news is you may easily be kicked out…..

There are lots and lots of rants on their blog post here.

While I appreciate WidgetBucks’ tighter control for the interest of the merchants, I would have expected them to do some research first and find out why Chitika and other affiliate programs have always singled out Asian continent. They cannot claim NOT to know that Asians do tend to be more ‘creative’ and they do create some headaches. (that’s why it took us so long to cash PayPal and get Adsense paid direct, so don’t argue with me, some parts of Asia is especially full of cheaters….)

Now, the question – Am I still going to support WidgetBucks?

I got no choice because I already have USD20+ in November income and I need it to hit USD50 before I get paid. So, I have to hang on and hope I have lots of US and Canadian visitors BUY something. Moreover, I have over 50 referrals and some of them are from USA and Canada. So, I still earn 10% of their income for the next 12-2 months.

Earn $$ with WidgetBucks

If you are from Asia, haven’t join WidgetBucks, you can forget all about it.

If you are from US or Canada, do join ‘cos they pay quite well so far.

If you are already a publisher in Asia and you have some money over there, lots of space on your blog, hang on and let’s hope we hit the USD50 soon.

They cancelled my account and forfeited all of my earning, because some of my widgets installed on non-english blog previously

kennyP – That’s the problem with WB lor, they don’t check first and relax the rules and then, start to tighten it. They already have so many other ads program to emulate so they should have start from the beginning with one set of rules and not keep changing and tightening like this.

    sir jorge – Good luck!

tenthofmarch – Yalor, the widget slows down the page from loading, I hate that.

gettycash – It is still a long way to go. LOL.

sherizan – On the blog posts, I read that many from the Indian continent said they are leaving it there for the referrals’ income. So, I guess we also keep it running for a while until we see a completely 0 one day. It happenned to me in Chitika before as well.

Ouch! Thought WB would be the RISING advertiser for RISING blogs in Asia… Guess we need to rely on Google ads – AGAIN (-.-“)

However, i can understand the move as the products sold on Mpire aren’t ASIAN-FRIENDLY enough (shipping charges etc). It’s only LOGICAL they don’t pay lesser-potential Asian customers. Correct mi if i’m wrong.
