Put the money in FD? OMG, you are bold, madam. There is no privacy protection on Malaysia bank account holder, because IRD can always request these information from BNM, using any “legal” mean, e.g. money laundering.

As Kenny has pointed out, VISA determines the rate, but you also have to check the issuing bank’s policy in case they deduct anything else off the transaction. I think my post should be quite clear on the other stuff.

As for VISA debit card, I found a VISA article on The Edge saying that there are three banks that issue VISA debit cards — BSN (which obviously is useless with PP), Public Bank, and Standard Chartered. I’m looking into either PB or SC, although I’m chancing SC would be a better choice due to its global connection.
