I upgraded my personal site today at 5xmom and found that:
1) After we have uploaded the files, there isn’t the page where it says…Your blog has been upgraded, click etc
2) It appears like there is no changes at all
3) I was very cautious and slowly activate only the bare necessities plugins
4) Some of my widgets disappeared and eventually re-appear after I re-save and re-fresh (hehehe, so many re-s)
But what’s scary is my wp-config file messed up and my site disappeared.
Normally, wp-config is not touched during upgrading because the folder comes with wp-config sample file. We need to enter our database, password and path etc into the wp-config files ourselves to make the ‘path’ correct.
I have done many upgrading and none messed up my wp-config file. So, to the experts, any idea why this happens? Because I am not going to touch more upgrading until I am sure the rest won’t give me WP errors. You see, I am not familiar with these wp-config data as my blogs are auto-installed by Fantastico One Click install or my webhost will do so for me.
