I have blogged about the importance of putting as little words as possible and yet making the biggest impact when writing your blog description. You need to go out and sell your blog to the advertisers. So, one cannot afford to hesitate about our qualities and skills. There is no room for being humble.
For example, I have seen many people put “Just a daily mumble about my life and rants or Just another technology blog’ when they write their descriptions. Such words do not impress advertisers nor carry any weight.
I am doing well on Text Link Ads because every single one of my blog descriptions are very well-thought out. There are hundreds of blogs in the list and before an advertiser comes to our blog to check our content, they will pick it based on what little words they read on the description.
So, let’s take a look at what I wrote this morning. PayPerPost is asking for high ranking blogs. I said these:
PR 5/10, Alexa less than 60K, Technorati 7K, prolific writer and yet, very selective with paid posts. Hence, only accepts very few paid posts which go well with her 2K daily unique visitors. Main theme women’s issue but she owns a dozen niche blogs ranging from food, parenting, photography, making money to religion. http://chanlilian.net or better known as 5xmom.
Do you own a high ranking blog? Check out PayPerPost’s blog and submit yours.
I am looking for a handful of Posties to be featured on a new PPP.com site that will be rolling out in a couple of weeks. If you have a decent pagerank (4 or better) and decent traffic Alexa score (250k or better) and you want to be featured please post your url and a 35-50 word description of your site. You will be featured all over the site so expect a nice traffic bump : )
If you haven’t join PayPerPost, jump in now. You will be richly rewarded. That I promise you. There is no other paid post programs that quite measures up to [tag]PayPerPost[/tag]. I have written USD110 per SINGLE paid posts and I don’t take anything less than USD30 on my personal blog. I still remain selective with my personal blog and even on this blog. Only relevant and useful topics.

(April 12, 2007 - 4:42 pm)true – i’m kinda selective also these days, although that may mean that i won’t be able to achieve my monthly target (for now) from my blog. have to find some other way to supplement the target. for now, built traffic – that’s something i haven’t work on for some time liao…

nicole – Yeah
asho – Yeah, we need to have some sort of respect from the blogsphere. Not to say respect but people has to know us as a person first. Otherwise, the blog will go to the dogs.
