16May This blog runs on Wordpress version 2.2 “Getz”
I have tried it on this blog. Easy peasy to upgrade with no glitches. I don’t have time to check out what’s new yet but one of the feature I read is ‘No more broken pages due to plugins incompatibility’. That’s one good news cos how many times have we seen our blog disappeared because of some bugs in the code?
The other thing is the ‘Deactivate All Plugin’. I have a long list of plugins and it is welcoming to have a one button. But you need to Activate one by one. This is to help you identify which plugin actually cause the problem, in case there is any.
You can get the download link from Wordpress.

Do you use king’s plugins? I can’t get them to work.

Did you backup first or just update gung-ho?

nick - You mean Alex King? Not sure which you are referring to ler.
pablo - On this blog, I follow the method. I normally back-up using the plugin. Cos I know my webhost has the mySQL back-up. Hehehe. Then, I deactivate plugin. Then only I do it. But those smaller blogs with not many readers, I zoom up the new files and dump it with ftp only. Lazy man’s work. But make sure you know how to solve la, in case it breaks. It had happened to me before.

Wow so fast. It was less than 10 hours ago I think they made the announcements. After seeing you upgrade, I also went ahead and am now 2.2 also :)
In the process also learnt more about widgets and how to manually widgetize SapienBryan’s theme myself.

Whoops! I was so excited made the upgrade without even backing up. But then again my wordpress blog is new so no worries. I’m still afraid to upgrade my older blogs for fear of the ‘disappearing/blank page’ effect when things go wrong :(

Andrew - Yeah, one of the thing is ppl should be familiar with widgets a bit or else their sidebar disappeared. I just widgetized all my stuffs too. Nice and neat.

I have been thinking about upgrading, but I was worried that there was some hidden bug somewhere. I see that there have been very few problems to far, so I guess it’s safe to go ahead. Still going to back everything up first though :)

I am happy to see that you are having success with the new plugin. I will probably be upgrading soon. But I don’t want to screw things up so I keep waiting to hear from other success stories.
