The old man, the son and the donkey

Once upon a time, an old man and his son took their old, dying donkey to the market to sell because they need cash. The old man and the boy were pulling the donkey and along came an old woman. She asked the old man why are they so stupid? “Put your boy on the donkey so that the poor kid doesn’t have to walk.”

The old man put the kid on the donkey. Then, further down the road, they met a young lady. She scolded the boy, “How can you let your old man walk while you enjoy the ride!?!?”

So, the boy and the old man exchanged places. This time, they met a fat woman. “You cruel old man, why don’t you let your son ride too?”

Now, old man and son both rode on the back of the poor, old, dying donkey.

They bumped into a fierce woman and she screamed murder because of animal cruelty. “Your donkey is already so old and both of you have no hearts!”

The old man then decided to do the best thing. He tied up the donkey and put it on his back to carry the donkey. They passed through a bridge. The donkey got frightened being tied up like that and when it heard the river gushing below the bridge, the poor animal struggled hard and it fell into the river and died.

In the end, the old man was left with no donkey to sell, hence, no money.

Now, you may wonder….WTF, has this blog turned into a fairy tale, kiddies blog? Nope. This applies to every blogger. Many bloggers are like the old man. He listened to every darn blogging tips dished out by others. They follow every darn advices without using their own brains to think. In the end, your blog will probably drown or drift without going anywhere.

If you wish to make your blog go somewhere, stop listening to every parties. By running around to follow the tips, you will become a Jack of all trade and you will be making peanuts. Stick to just a few trusted sources and work on it for several months. Then, you shall reap rewards.

Don’t jump and pounce on every new ad companies or social communities. For example, so many noobs were gushing about how good that Entrecard is when they cannot even go any place with Blogrush. Then, a new ad company comes along and they are already dreaming up their million ringgit. Don’t make your blog like a supermarket leaflet. Plenty of ads, plenty of rojaks (junks). It only cheapens your blog and no one will want a piece of it.
