TGIF and another new month ahead

I caught ShaMoneyMaker’s feed and realized that it is time for one of our ‘declare online income post’ once again. I had been out the whole of today because Chinese New Year is approaching and I have lots of shopping to do. Moreover, there is a sale and it is buy, buy, buy and spend, spend, spend.

My feed told me Sha made $2,000 in January. He is a Singaporean and that means his currency is a lot more than my Malaysian Ringgit. So, I went to check my own Excel spreadsheet…..and……

sadly, I barely hit RM6K. I shouldn’t complain at all because RM6K is the salary of a manager who has to work 9-5, taking care of a lots of stuffs and taking in all those work pressure. So, yeah, I still can make about USD1.5K without any PR. All my blogs with PR are not generating any money except some Adsense.

However, on the bright side, I am glad that inspite of all the major changes that I undertook, like returning money to the advertisers, staying away from high paying paid posts, rejecting direct offers to purchase banners ads on my blogs, I still can scrape some income.

My strategy for February :

1) Lie low and don’t get tempted

2) Keep blogging

3) Improve all my current pages (this means analyse and work on old pages)

4) Testing out some new programs

5) Hoping to see more advertisers opting for no-follow and getting more offers from middleman companies which offers no-follow paid posts

6) Pray that the Lord will continue to bless all who work hard

and lastly, I think I can feel the panic from advertisers whom had bought paid links because I heard that Google is going after them now. Just last night, we were asked by some paid post companies to add no-follow to those posts we had posted since 2006. USD4 a piece to add no-follow.

My most precious reward for January? Two nights ago, I was in the car with hubby and I told him that my income is now only 1/3 of what I used to earn. Suddenly, my little boy who is five said, “Mommy, you work very hard hor?” He can see that I am really working as in paying attention, concentrating and focus. Praise God for that little affirmation!

Your little son must be so sweet! I can imagine how he looks at you while you focus on the computer screen. Have you heard of any advertiser being penalized for buying reviews? I’ve also got some money to no-follow some older posts.

    Thanks for the mention :)

Yes my currency is stronger but I spend it at Malaysia most of the time, at JB. I have family there.

    Singapore prices are ever increasing

My strategy is also to ‘Lie low’. Go below the radar, optimize my blogs, be ‘discreet’ and keep earning

You have a good February Lilian

Lots of changes are occuring within the paid for blogger community too. Tons of folks are fleeing those companies and yanking out their code.

[…] ya, my income for February? Just like January income. Not much improvement. I made up in Adsense income because paid posts were really dead. Of course, […]
