I have a particular fondness for Blogger and Blogspot because it is my first ever blogging experience. I signed up Blogger one night in October 2004 and like they said, the rest is history. So, I still keep my original blogspot for keepsake because I already had over 400 posts when I switched to my own domain and writing from Movable Type. Later on, I switched to WordPress.Org.
I had read and heard a lot of people lamenting about losing their template when they switched to Blogger Beta. However, I just pick up an announcement on Blogger about this new dashboard which will not affect our template.
With just one click I had switched a few of my blogspot blogs over. No loss of template nor sidebar links.
So, go ahead and do it! I have no guarantee though.

(January 1, 2007 - 7:25 am)snooki – I switched to WordPress two years ago ‘cos having our own domain is always better. Especially if we are writing for money ‘cos we dunno when the free service will suspend our services like what all the wordpress.com users ended up with.

(January 1, 2007 - 9:43 pm)I am having problems switching ler. I keep getting a message telling me “one or more of your blogs could not be moved”. Have tried everything to no avail. Even deleted all my template and customisation but tak jadi jugak!

(March 8, 2008 - 7:28 pm)WordPress is so much cleaner than Blogspot and easier for most people to use and leave comments on. I started out with Blogspot, but made the switch to WP and haven’t looked back.
