To solve the CPU overloading issue, I decided to pay for a month of upgrading to 640 MB RAM. But around noon, my webmaster found that it has hit 500 MB RAM again. He has analysed and found that it is my personal site that is giving problems because there are too many queries to the MySQL database.
So, I have just disabled my random post and related post plugins, top commentors and almost every plugin that are just frills on the sidebars. Hopefully, we can see an improvement. Otherwise, we have to reboot the server a few times a day.
Sheesh…this is getting tiring, isn’t it? Just last night, I had grabbed this USD88.50 opp and found that I cannot post! So, after rebooting the server, I could post. But when I want to submit my opp, the other side said my permalink URL is taking too long to respond and I had to keep hitting the Sumbit Opportunity several times before it finally got through. Phew…it was so frustrating and yet so thrilling. Lucky that nowadays, I have six hours to complete my assignment and not like previously where I have to submit within 30 minutes. Otherwise, I would have to sit and see RM300 slipping through my fingers.
My webmaster has also done away with some of the Cron job (though I don’t know what it is) and cleared off many things from my server. This is an accumulation of things I had collected over the period of three years.
Looking back, I think my site needs a major overhaul because the original blog is from Blogger. Then, it was imported to Movable Type. After that, it is imported into WordPress. But I am really not keen on doing all those stuffs because I have 2,300 posts there and I have over 15 domains and sub-domains to deal with. So, we shall see how it goes.
I had Google and read almost everything I can get my hands on, on this [tag]CPU overloaded[/tag] problems faced by [tag]Wordpress[/tag] users but so far, no one seems to be able to give a conclusive answers. I am now on a Virtual Private Server with 640 MB RAM and the only good thing is my webmaster can reboot the system from his side and not having to wait for the USA counterpart to restart or else, I am losing lots of money!
