nuffnang vs. Adverlet – Read it on Friedbeef.com

**Edited & added on 3rd July 2007 : If you are interested to make money, read my blog categories under Make Money. If you want a local ad program that pays, sign up with nuffnang now. I have earned over RM1K per month from nuffnang.

I met James Yeang during the bloggers gathering and mistook him for the other parenting blog James. Hehehe, my apologies. Here’s an excerpt from his About page.

Now, everyone of us Malaysian bloggers are certainly excited with the promises made by nuffnang and Adverlets. Many questions run through our mind. Are they going to pass on some local ads to us? Will we finally see local advertisements on our blog? Are we going to make money from them? Can we finally say goodbye to Adsense?

Well, James has interviewed both nuffnang and Adverlets. You may be interested to find out from his post here Advertlets vs Nuffnang : The Battle for Malaysian Blog Advertising.

I commented in the post as follows :

James, great job! I learnt so much from this post. All the questions I have but not sure how to phrase it are answered here. Personally, I have only signed up with one and not the other. ‘Cos heh, I have no more space on my sidebar. But for someone who is earning a decent income in USD from my blogs, I will support the one which gives me a better ‘feel good’ factor than the $$ they promise. Once again, thanks and it was a pleasure to meet and sit with you at the same table during the gathering. Me gonna add you to my link soon so that I can continue with your great blog!

We bloggers are now spoilt for choice. So, at the end of the day, do we stick with one and not the other? Will your choice be determined by the amount they promise? Me? I am waiting for Josh Lim’s (of adverlet) confirmed order because I have quoted Josh for an ad on my personal site. I prefer to be wooed by the advertising company and not the other way round. I personally make good money with USD so my support is towards the one that creates a good community feel in our local Malaysian blogsphere. In as much as I love saucy flames, I love to see us Malaysian bloggers band together and not competing.

But I support nuffnang all the way because Timothy is sama-sama Penang lang so I must kasi sapot kau sama lu. (Timothy of nuffnang is from the same little island so my 100% support).

Ultimately, before we bloggers can dream of making money, remember to improve our blog focus and yeah, get your own domain.

The reason why I did not sign up with Adverlets was because of their ambassador – the iz reloaded guy. Why they got a guy who fakes his online popularity and comments on his own blog using other nicknames, and is a shitty person irl, I don’t understand.
