Nuffnang Buffered Earnings – Is it working for you?

I notice that I have one section in my Nuffnang earnings labelled ‘Buffer Earnings’. I do not know what it is and never bother to find out until now.

I wish to take a screenshot of it but unfortunately, I do not know how to mosaic out the advertisers’ names as I do not have any photo editing softwares (not yet at least) on my iMac. So, you will have to take my words for it.

Buffer Earnings from Nuffnang shows that I can earn as much as RM18 per week per slot on one blog alone and some are as low as 0.10 sen. The good thing is almost every blogs, no matter how pathetic some of the traffic are, still make money.

I just read about this Buffer Earnings on Nuffnang Blog. Here is how it works :

Some of you may have noticed that we have been recently beta testing a new metered unique visitor system, as opposed to our existing model of selling ads on weekly slots. Under this new system, more than one advertiser can buy an X number of unique visitors from each blog.

All the earnings earned from this new ad system is recorded under “Buffer Earnings” in the Earnings Tab and for this beta stage will be totaled up with the rest of your earnings once every week.

Now, this explains why those freaky Toyota and Oobey plus the footballer faces suddenly pop out of my blogs when I least expect it. Though I like the money, I get freaked out in the middle of the nights when I log on to my blog and found faces staring back at me.

If you still do not know how it works, let me explain it :

1) We put the Nuffnang CPM codes on our blog (I am not sure if CPC codes work too, ask Nuffnang)
2) Advertisers can now buy the space for a certain number of hits
3) Unlike previous time, advertisers have to pay for a week
4) Now they pay only for a certain short period, hence, we get fresh ads all the time
5) Because we get fresh ads, our surfers are more likely to check them out

The plus point that I notice is my lower traffic blogs have a better income as they have ads now. But I am afraid advertisers will stop buying the whole week banner which pays better. Then again, I doubt Nuffnang will want that to happen because if I get less, they get lesser. So, I am sure they will work out something that benefits us bloggers because if we can rotate more ads, we get more money eh?

Is your blog part of the beta testing?

    I have this running.

Some goes as high as RM20-30 in a week.. but some others a few cents to a ringgit.. lolz. It’s good to know they’re experiencing with new things that will benefit more bloggers. But, I feel they should explain in further detail on how this works.

Even now there’s a new feature called “Metered Earnings”
