Arrggh…this has got to be the most unlucky day of all. My Sony Vaio kaput yesterday and I couldn’t restore Windows with the recovery disks. So, we had sent it to the Sony Service Centre and they suspect the motherboard is fried because all I see are lines and zeros. The Vaio already has no battery because I am not willing to fork out RM850 for a battery. If the motherboard is fried, I might as well buy a new laptop. This time I am going to buy a Dell. No more flimsy Sony for me again. Ever.
But if that is not bad enough, my home broadband kaput too. I called and make a report this morning and so far, two technical staffs have phoned me. One said my house is too far from the 4MB port. But that was not they told us when we applied. I scared them that I don’t care what they are going to do but they must get my line working again. I bluffed that I deal with internet business and each hour delay costs me a hell lot of money. LOLZ. That got the first guy nervous. So, his supervisor called me again and told me they are doing their best.
Someone taught me this trick. The next time your Streamyx line is down, bluffed that it involves thousands of USD and that will make them nervous and work faster.
Right now, I am using my Celcom Unlimited broadband. I have to rush through 15 paid posts by tonight. And I have only 3 more left. Yahoo!
Still, it is a chore to try remembering all my passwords to all my blogs because I am using my son’s desktop as it is the only computer working with my Sony Ericsson P1i mobile network.

(June 11, 2008 - 9:07 am)It’s kind of annoying to call Streamyx or even Astro to file a report. They will ask you to do some “stupid” thing like shut down the device and turn it back on after xx minutes. Users are much more savvy nowadays. Usually they will call after all their attempts failed and that normally means nothing is wrong on the user’s side but somewhere is wrong with the service.
At least Streamyx has enough people to handle calls. Ever try calling Astro? I had to switch on the phone to loud speaker, listen to all the ads until someone picks up. @_@

(June 11, 2008 - 10:44 am)i’ll suggest to buy a Dell notebook. Of course people keep telling us how good are Fujitsu and others, saying that they can tahan longer. Well, for my opinion, i’ll change my work station every 2 years, and even in my ex-company, they used to change a new PC every 4 years.
So, tahan longer doesn’t make any sense to us. We need a tahan 2~3 years workstation, good enough. Plus cheaper, hehe~

(June 12, 2008 - 12:56 pm)If you buy any notebook computer, remember to ask for 3 years warranty. Just fork out the extra, because the warranty is cheaper than vaio battery ;)
