I have said this and I will repeat again. I notice how advertisers have opted not to engage bloggers writing from LiveJournal, Blogspot, Xanga, WordPress.COM and other free services. Well, I do not blame these advertisers because the service can and had been terminated with short notices. For example. WordPress.com closed down many blogs within very short notices (within hours). Another free blogging platform informed that they will also close the member’s blog if there are complaints received.
Therefore, if you are an advertiser, you certainly do not want to pay good money for something that disappeared. Moreover, in IMHO, if you are going to make money, might as well make it using your own domain instead of using freebies.
So, folks, if you are blogging from blogspot or any of those free services, get yourself cushioned with Plan B now. Find your own hosting. It is not expensive and worth it in the long run. No point you get a PR5/10 on a blogspot and not able to use it in future. Get your own domain, work on the PR, rankings, traffic and the site is yours to keep.
