Most bloggers will not admit that they do care about those lists of blogs with the most, best, highest, popular and etc kind of awards. A lot of people will grip……. chey, not accurate metrics, chey, what difference does it make to my income, chey, kids’ stuffs and etc etc.

Yet, privately, they will check and compare with their blog buddies, friends, most hated enemies and etc to see where they stand. Don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with being competitive if you are blogging for money.

I do dig such lists as Malaysia popular blogs. You know why? Because if you can get on the list, you can at least get a few back links when other bloggers put the popular blogs list on their blogs. Moreover, whether accurate or not, if your blog is there, you get to show off. Doesn’t matter that there is nothing much to shout about. It is still damn wicked to brag about it, sometimes.

If you have plenty of time and wish to get notice, go compile one of those lists and hope people pick it up. However, there are risks because you will probably leave out some bloggers and they can get mean if they don’t see their blogs there. Or you will be flooded with lots of emails from people asking you to include them.

Anyway, thanks to Syed Syarul for doing this 70 most popular blogs in Malaysia 2008 because I am sure it took him a while to get the Alexa rankings. He uses the Alexa metrics as comparison. You may say it is not accurate, but there isn’t much else you can compare blogs with other than Technorati and Alexa.
