Is your Adsense ads showing what you want to see?

This post is like two years too late but nevertheless, it may benefits new bloggers who want to make money from Adsense and blogging.

You have heard that a lot of people makes a lot of money from Google Adsense. Yet, you have no luck and though you do get clicks, those clicks only pay 1 cents USD. Then, we know that most clicks pay only 3 cents USD.

Then, you begin to wonder if those people are lying. Well, they are not. Adsense clicks pay differently in different countries. In Malaysia, it is dirt cheap. I had done Adwords campaign before and my RM50 took a long time to get exhausted.

So, if you are really serious about making money from Adsense, you need to a few things :

1) Design your site to something that appeals to overseas visitors. (make money and personal blogs are craps, forget about ever making money)

2) Set your geo location in Google Webmaster Central to the country you are targetting. (I am not going to teach you how to set because you have to learn it yourself. :) )

3) Target Google Adsense in your post. Google Adsense tips have taught publishers how to add the tags to target your Adsense. It does not guarantee that you will get the ads you want but it is certainly worth trying. For example, if I am writing a post about baby foods, I want baby foods ads to appear and not ‘how to remove cat urine’ ad to appear. There are WordPress Plugins to target Google Adsense but some of the authors have not updated their sites for a while, so I prefer you look it up yourself as I am not sure if those plugins still work.

And more tips – If your post contain those words forbid by Google adsense, you are going to see only Hurricane Ads (which has no value). Some of those words are the F word spelled with u, the male of a hen amongst others. Adsense also hates you repeating a certain words too often.

I hope these will improve the kind of ads you see on your blog. If not, there is the filter method…Which will be for another day.

Yes I have certain sites that I totally don’t want any Malaysian traffic :)

Your adsense on the same site is different too when it’s seen by visitors from different countries.

    HI,
I’m new here and just want to say thanks for the helpful hints. I’ve read where some don’t make anything with adsense. Is there a better alternative to adsense?

I have no faith in ad sense. I have chosen other alternatives to ad sense and found better results.
