10Nov iAm a Converted iMac User
I had the iMac for a week already and a few things puzzled me. But that doesn’t stop me from actually buying a domain just for my iMac and setting up a WordPress blog for that! I know, I know, I have a domain for every darn thing I do. Migration (plan cancelled), cooking, God, parenting, photo etc etc. Every hobby has a blog.
I attended a two hours session on getting to know my Mac and now I am a converted user. Give me another two weeks and I can kiss Windows goodbye. Right now, I have a lot to rush out from my laptop (which is a Sony Vaio running on Vista) so I have little time to fully concentrate on the iMac. I have both machines running btw.
My first few questions were ;
1) Hey! How come I cannot find the right click on my mouse?
2) How am I going to copy and paste?
3) Why isn’t there a virus protection?
I got the answers to all and more.
But you know what is my problem? I cannot log into system admin! So, my usage is rather limited. The Apple Centre guy told me to bring in the iMac to let them have a look. Maybe next week.
What I see on my System Preference, Accounts is only my name and it is labelled Standard. So, I do not know who is the System Admin. There is only one single user, i.e. my name and Standard user. Without the System Admin login, I cannot do much. *haih*
After the two hours course and after knowing what kick ass Mac OS X Leopard can do, I understand why it is THE ULTIMATE MACHINE for probloggers. Damn! Apple is a genius!

KennyP – Wait I tested everything out first but basically, a lot of things are easier done on Mac than Windows.
Wong – In System Preferences, there is only one Lilian and that has Standard status. So, I cannot log in as System Admin, no matter what combination of names I tried.

Yes, yes, a Mac is my dream workstation as well. I am so envious when all those probloggers posted up their workstation with a Mac, or sometimes, two!

I used to be a mac user, but I found that the easiest solution to a computer problem was to just buy another computer. The mac shop here is a bit to far away.
