06Mar How to apply for debit card?
A young friend of mine wants to know what to do if he cannot use a credit card to activate his PayPal account. He is over 18 years old and hence, qualified to join those get paid to post programmes. Please note that those under 18 years are not allow, ok?
I told him to go to Public Bank and apply for a debit card. If I am not mistaken, I think I have heard from LiewCF that we can use debit card as well to activate our PayPal account.
Can someone enlighten me on this? How much does the person needs to deposit to own a debit card? I hope to help this young man out with the dilemma of not owning a credit card and yet need to activate his PayPal.

Just go to PBB online website, download the form and send it to them with the photostated IC. They will send you your account number where you have to deposit the cash, minimum of RM20 must be in the card at all times for annual fee. After you have banked in the cash, they will send you the card. All this will be within a month or so.

Yes, we can use PB debit card to verify PayPal account (the other debit card is AmBank NexG).
You can get the PB visa electron debit card form from any PB branch or apply online at http://www.pbebank.com/en/features/applyDCard.jsp?website=PBEBANK
Then, do what MENJ mentioned in previous comment to deposit money into your PB debit card.
After that, add your debit card information to PayPal account (add credit card). PayPal will charge your debit card and ask you submit verify code. The code can get from your PB card statement at the end of the month.
Submit your verification code to PayPal and your account is verified!

P.S. Next, your friend need to learn how to withdraw PayPal funds in Malaysia ;)

Yeah auntie, it’s that easy. But I didn’t get my form online, i went to the PBB branch and told the customer service officer I wanna apply for debit card. Gave them RM25 for the minimum amount, i add another RM10 for the paypal verification fees which gives it a total amount of RM35. They filled in the form for me and photocopied my IC on the spot. I got my debit card 3 weeks after I applied. Oh, it was 1 and a half month ago.

Okay, that is the debit card bit. But how to withdraw in Malaysia ah? Masih tak boleh, isn’t it?

Maybank also got Debit card. I think 10 bucks to apply.

how this debit card works? is it like using credit card to buy things? but deduct using paypal?

the maybank has debit card? then how to used in paypal? coz in paypal if accept the money then it ask add credit card or open bank account. so how???
