I have some incomes from ads placed directly on my websites, some paid posts and also the commission from TextLinkAds for the month of October in my PayPal.  I cashed part of it and yup, the money in Ringgit Malaysia is in my bank today.

Normally, [tag]TextLinkAds[/tag] pay the money exactly on the 1st day of the following month, i.e. November 1st pay October income.  So, I usually have to wait like 3 weeks before the cheque arrives.  The risk of losing a cheque is high too.  I almost lost my September income last month.

To avoid that risk, I opt for payment by [tag]PayPal [/tag]instead of cheque.  Then, I asked Bryan of SapiensBryan, my webhost to help me cash the PayPal money.  He charges me a certain rate for the exchange   (amount is private, you can ask Bryan for a quote, if interested).  I did some calculations and feel it is fair.  After all, the bank charges to cash a cheque is exhorbitant too.  Moreover, think of the the risk of getting a cheque lost in the mail plus the waiting time?  In fact, the waiting time is killing.  Three weeks to get the cheque.  Another three weeks to get the cheque cashed.  By the time, I got my money, I don’t feel any excitement anymore.

So, tadaaa…today, only 8th of November, I already have the money in my bank.  4-figure! Of course, if you wish to ask someone to do this, you better trust the person well and at least, have met him/her before.   Don’t part with your money to someone you do not know or trust.

There are other ways for Malaysians to cash their PayPal but I don’t have confidence in them.  When my income is steady, I will probably open a Swiss Bank account.  LOL, just joking.
