Have you upgraded to WP 2.2.1 yet?

After some initial problems with my personal blog, I almost dare not touch the upgrade button. However, I read that Pablo has problem getting into his WordPress at Delicious Asian Food and though he did not confirm if it is hacking, I am very, very afraid of it. My sites have been hacked into previously and I am not going to take any chance.

Then, I had some chats and I heard that it is very, very easy to hack WordPress! Wooo…that got me into action immediately. So, with fingers crossed, I had upgraded a few blogs to WP 2.2.1 already.

This blog now runs on WP 2.2.1 and you better get yours done too. This time, I have no problems with my wp-config.php file anymore. But to be on the safe side, remember to backup all your files first. Follow the step by step provided by WordPress.

What a relief! I came back this morning and found the site still alive and links are still working. The fact that Delicious Asian Food was upgraded to 2.2.1 offered slightly more comfort than if it was not upgraded :)

Must be some server haywire. Bryan said things looked okay from his side but Paris also experienced similar problems. Well, as long as the recipes are still being served, I am most happy about it.

I just upgraded two of my blogs to WordPress 2.2.1 all without backup even

I like to live life dangerously :)

Anyway word of advice is to do the upgrade at a time when your FTP speeds are fast. Sometimes when the upload speed is crappy, one or two the files become corrupted and you won’t even know it until things go wonky.
