I finally got around to sit down and do what all Google Adsense publishers are supposed to do. Read the new Terms of Service, understand it and implement it. But like all blind chicken, I never read the agreement, accepted it and thought it is not important. Well, I am not the only one who do that. My blog buddy who is a lawyer does that too. Hehehe.
I believe many of you have clicked the I Aceept button. But have you added the Privacy Policy to your blog? The link to it must be visible. I wrote a page and the the privacy policy is over here. Of course, I didn’t write it. I merely copied what Jensense gave. You can get the draft from Jensense. Her link is at the bottom of my Privacy Policy page.
Few days back, my webmaster, Bryan also alerted me that we cannot place a Google ad immediately after our title. Again, I never really read the terms. Thanks to Bryan, I have no taken off the 468 x 60 ad which I used to place on my blog post. Previously, it was sandwiched between the title and the post, blended so well.
But now, if I understand what I read, Google says we have to make the ads to look like an ad and not fool our readers. So, I added a light coloured border to all my ads to be on the safe side. Now, I am using the 250×250 format in my post on the right side of the title.
I see that many bloggers have not mentioned these two matters to their readers. I think we should as our fellow bloggers may overlooked this and cause them to get their Google Adsense account suspended. I have so many blogs and am still in the midst of copying and pasting all the privacy policy to them.
The other freaky thing about Google Adsense is the implementation of the email for Adsense. Each time, we can only log in to one account. I do not use my gmail account for my Adsense. Since I have a PC and Mac, now I rely on them to read different things. One is to log in to my Adsense, one to login to my Gmail/Webmaster Central/Blogger account. And why is it freaky? Because it is like Google has infiltrated every part of our lives. I shall not elaborate on this but these sort of control makes me very paranoid.
