01Apr Full feed, half feed for your RSS?
This is a problem that I have struggled with. I read most blogs from Google reader which shows up on my iGoogle page. I hate bloggers who give excerpt because it is a chore to visit blogs, especially when our shitty broadband is so slow. I also hate leaving my footprints on their site through MyBlogLog, Nuffnang and other social community sites. I like to be invisible. :P
Before I go on, I just discover that I can actually turned off Nuffnang tracking cookie. Nice, now I can lurk without others know I have been to their blogs. You can make the choice under your Profile page.
Ok, I hate people giving half feeds. And that’s why I struggle with this issue of providing only summary of my RSS. So many sites are scraping contents so I hate seeing my complete post on other’s site.
So, what’s your preference?

I think you can also make yourself invi in MyBlogLog..just click your pic and hide it. If you don’t already know it la.. :)

But you also use half feed on your chanlilian.net leh..
I also read from igoogle. Kinda lazy to go to the blog itself to read lah.
So FULL feed for me :)

I am on half feed wor….how ah? Many readers say they are lazy to click to read full feed. Dilemma also :( If full feeds, then my blogreview very long page liao…

pablo – Yalor, I also swing here and there. I sometimes, go half, sometimes full. Full feeds mean we are feeding a lot of rss scrapers. So, don’t know to please ourselves (from not getting scrape so much) or please our subscribers.
raymond – Boh pien lor, sometimes, come by and make up the numbers in traffic lor. Cos I see so many scrappers so I go back to summary for a few days. Hope they gave up and then, I put back.
rajawang – Yeah, I had done that for MyBlogLog and only realised I can do the same for NN.

Please please please serve full feeds. Most of the time I will skip excerpt feeds even when they sound enticing, that’s how I manage my time reading and blog hopping.
