Frustrations of being a Malaysian publisher where Google Adsense and Paypal are concerned

Few days ago, I almost lost my [tag]Text Link Ads[/tag]’ cheque for over USD300. TLA had mailed me on the same day, two cheques. One for the affliliate earnings and the other the commission. Thanks to TLA fantastic, prompt and courteous service and especially its CFO, Bill, I was assured to wait for the cheque for an additional 10 days. (one arrived but the other took 10 more days).

Due to the uncertainties, I have now opted for [tag]PayPal[/tag] payments for my payments from TLA and has find a way to cash it. TLA paid very promptly on the 1st of every month and it will be a breeze to collect the cash from someone whom I had arranged the payment with.

Just a while ago, I ran through the 42 countries that [tag]Google Adsense[/tag] make direct payment to. It frustrates me that some countries which we deemed to be much less developed than us can receive their money via their banks. How come Google doesn’t recognise [tag]Malaysian[/tag] banks? Oh well, I know part of the reasons. It is just that as a small income earner, it is a burden that I have to pay a huge banking charges for my cheques. I dare not hold payment each month due to the rampant cases of publishers getting their Google Adsense account suspended, banned and money taken away. I’d rather grab my money each month and scamp.

I hope all the full-time bloggers and publishers from Malaysia will make a concerted effort to Paypal, Google and other companies to uphold our Malaysians’ publishers images instead of trying to push their money-making cards and whatnots. As a Malaysian, I do feel embarrassed that we are not on par even with our neighbouring country down south.

Oh well….is this wishful thinking? .

At least you can have a PayPal account. I’m from Romania and I cannot receive money via PayPal. I’m very upset, because this issue keeps me away from many programs I wish to subscribe.
