Free blog hosting = no income, no money

As most of you are aware, my sites were down and I was without them for around 36 hours. However, I do have two blogspot blogs that are registered with some of the paid post programmes. For e.g. Karma Kameleon was my very first blog set up in 2003.

Previously, I don’t give much thought to these blogs because I only take certain posts when I have absolutely nothing else to do. Since that were the only two blogs available to me, I have no choice but to fall back on them to at least earn me at few bucks during the downtime.

Now, I can emphatise with those bloggers who are blogging from Blogspot, Livejournal, Typepad and etc. I found that I practically have no paid opportunities that I am qualified to take. My blog has a PR 3/10 and still cannot do anything because every advertisers refused blogspot blogs. Duh!

It was a long, tiring and frustrating chore of checking if any of the paid opportunities is for me. So, in short, I am so glad I have my own domain and sub-domain WordPress.org blogs. Otherwise, that is one, frustrating blogging journey.

For those who still stick to Blogspot or any free hosting, do something now. Don’t scrimp on the RM200 or less per year hosting fee. Get your own domain and hosting because you can reap a lot more within a month from paid postings. In fact, I can easily make that amount from just one paid post. Serious. Take my advice if you do not hate money.

That’s why I am on plan B. Waiting for my dot.com to mature past 3 months and get enough PR bla bla bla. It really is very depressing to see zilch no. of opps available even with a pr4 blogspot blog. Thankfully there’s Loudlaunch to keep me satisfied.

[…] Free blog hosting = no income, no money was a post I made in April 2007. However, it puzzled me why some bloggers whom I am 100% sure are able to afford the RM200 hosting fee just continue with their pessimistic views. Well, if they have no intention of writing paid posts at all, then, it is fine. But these are a bunch of sour grapes who griped about so many negative points regarding paid posts. Yet, they are desperate enough to do that far and few in between opps. When they cannot get these little crumbs, they whine and whine and whine. […]

    Hello again!

I am loving your websites and you are giving me such great advice! I am new to all this blogging for money and paid advertisements, etc, etc., but it has now become my obsession in learning how to make it work for me.

I am trying to get it down so that I can quit my stupid day job, here in the States, and move to Jamaica where my husband lives. Please help me!

Which site do you recommend I sign up for my own domain?

And how long after I have a site set-up will these blog for money sites allow mw to use them?

    Thanks!
