Finding that breakthrough

It is very, very hard to stand up and be seen in this huge, huge world call the blogsphere. Some people spent their time just commenting on top bloggers’ site to get on the top commentors list. (I disabled mine due to plugin problem at the moment)

Some seek out controversies to create a ripple. Others work on lists to lure the big bloggers to notice them. Big bloggers do need their ego polished too, you know?

Recently, a few Top 100 and Top 50 lists have emerged. I managed to leech on to some and you know what? It is my first breakthrough after 365 days of blogging. Three hundred sixty five days of blogging to no traffic, no readers, no comments except for a few supportive blog buddies.

I got on one list and am lucky was noticed by the others and in the end, I got in a few.

Here are some of the lists I have managed to piggie ride on :

1) Paula Mooney‘s list on bloggers who made money from their blog

2) Marc’s list of Top 50 Make Money Online Blogs Ordered by RSS

3) Mark’s list of World top 100 make money blogs list

4) Some lists ordered by backlinks from Link Bait Me

5) Top 50 bloggers in Malaysia ordered by Technorati rankings (my personal blog on #4)

6) Top 50 most influential bloggers in Malaysia by Sabahan (my personal blog)

7) Top 70 most popular bloggers in Malaysia by Syed Syahrul

8 ) Asblogger’s rehashed list for Top 100 bloggers list, translated into BM

Now, why do I bring up this matter? Is it to boast? NO!

I am giving suggestions to those techie guys who have the ability to pull the datas to come up with these sort of lists. Make it longer and I bet you will earn a lot of links.

And for us bloggers, how do we get on these sort of lists? Be alert and if you think your blog fits in, don’t be shy to write to them and ask nicely if they can include you in their next update.

How does these sort of lists benefits us? Backlinks! Doh! What do you think? Ego? Nah, no one gives a shit if you are #1 or #99 but we benefit by getting on the list.

One last tip – Sometimes you have to write for three hundred sixty five days without readers nor traffics until one day, the big guy one top decides to smile on you. Sheer determination.

Good luck and see you at the top!
