Did the loss of Google pagerank affect your blog income?

***Do I have to repeat the I don’t write paid posts or sell text links on this blog? I know I am paranoid but this is for the benefits of new visitors.***

I think everyone is going to say ‘YES!’ to the above question.

It is inevitable but the question is, how much are you affected by the loss of pagerank? Do you suffer a major drop? What percentage? 50%, 75% or a mere 20%?

Since I am attached to so many networks and with so many blogs, I can more or less gauge the effects felt by others. Almost all the paid post companies have nothing to offer. When you have a PR 0, you can expect to see almost no offers at all. Whoever tells you that they are still doing well, are mostly probably lying to you and to themself.

I am lucky that I have a lot of blogs and had joined almost all the available paid posts companies. So, that’s why if you are spying on me, you may notice that I still have paid posts to write, i.e. making money. (you can spy from my blog aggregator, I don’t mind, really)

However, I lost a huge chunk of income, in the region of RM5K this month. Some of these are money that I willingly forego as I deleted off my paid posts and text links sales on this blog and my personal blog. That alone probably costs me about RM2K. Painful? Not really because I have faith that it is a wise decision. I just need to grit my teeth and keep going. This is when my faith as a Christian comes in. I have to keep reminding myself that it is from God alone, my blessings fall on my lap. And God will provide me the daily bread I need.

Now that the new month is upon us, are we going to see an even worse decline in blog income for December? By January 2008, are we all going to eat air? Well, not really unless you are fully dependable on making money with paid posts. I have some stable income that will provide comfortably for me like Google Adsense, TextLinkAds and Kontera. Then, there are several paid posts companies which have their own rankings so I am still able to write paid posts.

What about you? Are you feeling the heat now?

The loss of page rank hasn’t really done a whole lot to my site. I still do it for the sake of writing, and while I get a few cents here and there, it’s much more fulfilling to just keep writing.

I definitely feel the heat. I depended too much on PPP.
This month I just managed to survive blogging full time.

Luckily I have many other blogs with PR not registered for paid post yet. Looks like I have to ‘burn’ those PR1 amd PR2 and survive for a few months more before my other incomes can sustain me.

    Life is hard..

I lost the one PR3 blog to PR0, but have a few new blogs with PR1 and PR2 putting to work. PPP is drying up, but I am getting a lot more offers from networks that do not require PR, which I previously too lazy to keep checking or bidding. Not yet feel the heat, can’t say for the coming month though

I lost my PR from 4 to Zero and
    searching my blog to delete
few more paid link site posts.

    Luckily I registered this blog
only for PPP. I have managed to
    survive with other blogs with
PR-3 and PR-2. Anyhow it is hard
    to live without PPP….
