Advertlets Kanasai? LOL

Here is one darn frustrated guy who opens a blog just for Advertlets. I am not sure how to translate the meaning of Kanasai but it has to do with the f word and shit.

This is what he said :

Ahh! Don’t listen to all these Advertlets bullshit! They talk craps. They don’t keep their promises. When I clicked on the cashout button FOUR MONTHS AGO, my status still remain unpaid. I was like, what the fuck? How the fuck did they manage our account? Our hard-earned money??!! Advertlets, you suck.

To those who have not been scammed by Advertlets, or if you’re still working with this slowest Advertising Company in South East Asia, I suggest you to remove all the Advertlets ads from your blog. Trust me, you can still earn a lot from Nuffnang.

Of course, I assume the writer is a he from the way he writes. Moreover he uses the name Wilson.

I cannot comment on it because I have never put any Advertlets ads. But I have heard some complains on my blog post on Advertlets though. Like Advertlets never pay for a long time. And more Advertlets never pay rant by some publishers. Or are you getting shortchanged by ads companies like Advertlets? Goodness gracious, some of my posts on Advertlets dated back to 2007. So, bloggers, wisen up.

So easy to scam people for money

I do not know if it annoys you, the bloggers when people mistook your site to be someone else site? It does get to me. I get all sorts of noob questions thinking that I am someone else. Let me note down how many fake identities I can play :

1) fortune teller
2) fengshui master
3) PM’s right-hand man
4) bomber man *ahem*
5) lucky number predictor
6) charitable organisation
7) examination scholar
8) aunt agony who sells lucky charm

etc etc.

If I am unscrupulous, I can easily get them to give me money. But heavens forbid!

It is a sad that people are so easily scammed and they are not educated or being made aware on the danger of the internet. Some of these people are desperate due to their situation. So, what can I do?

I can only pray that there are less scammers out there and more IT literate people. If you have the skill, opportunity and time, please do your part to educate your mother, grandmother, aunties in the neighbourhood, retirees in the community, little nephews and nieces, school kids, innocent young girls and boys and etc about being scammed and parted with their hard earned money.

People get scammed through Mudah.com.my

I received an email from someone who wrote to me personally. I cannot verify if this is indeed true. But no harm sharing it, just in case there are others who fall into the same scam.

Aha, next time whenever someone mention the name Nigeria, please run the other direction. However, I hope Sam has brought this matter to Mudah.com.my administration as well. I never buy or sell anything online, do not even have an eBay account so I know nothing about being scammed. Maybe ignorance is bliss after all.

Credit card fraud in an island

The bank called up my hubby this morning to verify if he has signed for a RM2,000 holiday package from some company. They notice a transaction around 5.00 am Malaysian time but they didn’t approve the transaction. Thank goodness!

We own only one card from one bank. So, this bank, UOB is normally very strict with approving online transaction. Whenever I pay for my Google Adwords using the credit card, even for USD50, they will phone the main card holder, my hubby. I own the supplementary card. I find it a chore to get such calls and usually, refrain from using credit card for any payment. If an outlet doesn’t have Paypal, I normally do not buy or use their service. I hate being asked by hubby, “DId you just paid USD50 to blablabla company?”

The bank officer told my hubby that credit card fraud is rampant in Langkawi. One of those smaller retailers are usually the culprit. But on looking back, we didn’t sign that many things using our credit. Even our liquor purchase was in cash as they give us 5% discount. We rented a 10-seater Kia Pregio and used only diesel and hence, we merely pay RM10-RM20 for the diesel each day.

To prevent the credit card fraud, the bank officer told us that some of those ’sign up for a free credit card’ booths are risky because we do not know who are their temporary sales staffs. One of them may even take our credit card details and start charging to our account.

So, folks, remember not to pay with your card if the retailers look suspicious. Right now, they have canceled my hubby’s gold credit card but he has another platinum card from the same bank. Gee, why they never offer me a free platinum card as well?

I hope UOB managed to track which retail outlet leaked their card holders’ details and abused it.

After my post on the problems of getting too many mails from Innity, Shadowfox has commented in my post on Innity :

Innity is the most fucking annoying advertisement aggregator online. All their bloody ads uses flash crap that jams up your screen and stops navigation of the site.

You can’t even click some hyperlinks after the flash ad comes up and they have no respect for FireFox browsers.

GET THEM! They’re the most arrogant/obtrusive advertising engine/entity from Malaysia.

I hate them everytime they clog up local forums.

Wowzer….I didn’t know there are ads from Innity on the local blogosphere. Does Innity pay well? Never mind, I am not interested to know anyway.
