28Feb BRB…
I heard that Google is doing another round of PR updating or rather, PR smackdown. I don’t see any changes in all my blogs so I cannot confirm how true this is. The only thing I hear is people losing their PR every day.
Anyway, I am splitting some of my blogs to different categories and placing them in their own domains. A few of these blogs are several years old and over the years, they have turned too messy with too many categories. I have acquired several domain names just for keepsakes and decide to make use of them instead of holding on to those names.
It is cheap and fun to buy domains but it is not so nice to work on those blogs to get their own decent stream of organic traffic. Still, I’d rather split them up into smaller blogs with better niche than one blog with 2,000 + posts with 20 categories. *roll eyes*
So, I will be right back when I get a few more blogs moved and split up.
Before you go and do the same thing, remember that Google can penalise mirror sites so always keep those newer ones private until you are sure there are no two blogs with the exact same content. I use the WP admin, Option, Privacy and set it to :
I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors
Back to my opening para, anyone get smack by Google lately?

it’s odd, I saw them take away all my pr, especially on one site that i don’t sell any ads on, or use any traffic generation or anything that I could imagine is against tos of any kind.
Even with the loss of page rank i’m getting a cool 200 uniques.
It’s a very concentrated, sub-niche, so that’s always nice.

gettycash - Wow! Congrats! LOL, once upon a time, only a PR 5 evokes the celebration but now, having a PR is happy enough.
sir jorge - If you feel your site is penalised wrongly, do ask for reconsideration. It works for me.

Wah! Why so dark here? Heh! Heh!
My finmats.com site has just been given a PR3 from nowhere but I am not celebrating yet since the page ranking exercise seems a bit unstable at the moment.
