Reminder : The closing date for the Go Dot Com contest is on the 10th. You have two more days to send your ping over to the post. I have paid for the domains and hostings so better hurry up, ok?
My webmaster, Bryan pointed out to me that domain fees will be increased soon.
Starting October 15, VeriSign will charge $6.42 for .com domains and $3.85 for .net domains, it said in a statement. The fees are charged to domain registrars such as GoDaddy and Tucows, which typically handle domain registration for customers. The new prices represent a 7 percent price increase for .com domains, for which VeriSign currently charges $6, and a 10 percent rise for .net domains, which cost $3.50.
He told me if one has one or two domains, then it is alright not to be bothered with the increase because it is not much. But I have 16 domains hosted on my VPS (virtual private server) managed by Bryan and another 8 I have in Bluehost. That makes 24 domains! OMG, since when did I buy so many domains? I think I am addicted to this dot com ego and need some rehab program.
So, I decided to renew all my domains till 2010.
Do the maths?
I need to work real hard to pay for those domain fees. LOL, never mind, it is Monday in the States and all the money is coming in now. Phew…
Roughly, the increase is just USD1 but 24 x USD1 x 3 is a lot of money I saved. (RM250)

No, I won’t be renewing my domain names before the increase, because honestly, it’s not worth it for me. They’re cheap enough for me to renew when they expire.
