26Nov Are we getting shortchanged by companies who are supposed to pay us? (eg. Advertlets)
I had dabbled with almost every ads program in beta. They usually have some glitches etc. For example, WB first gave us good payments, then, they weed out Asians. Then, the same thing happen to PPP as well. Beta simply means we are part of the guinea pigs gang. They can change the rules anytime and we have very little say in it.
But I notice something disturbing about how Adverlets handle their publishers. Take for example, this blog iZone from Singapore which was ranting about not receiving his cheque after submitting support tickets. He got smacked on the face by Advertlets that his cheque was delayed because Advertlets is investigating on click frauds. WTF? If I am the blogger, I will get very mad because that comment from Advertlets support posted on a blog will make everyone thinks that he is indeed cheating.
Okay. However, please note that your cashout amount is most likely going to be audited. There are a few “irregular clicks”. Please get in touch with us if there is anything you would like to clarify.
Then, another blogger Darren today posted about the same thing happening to him. When payment is due, they have to delay it due to click frauds.
Although as publishers we cannot say much and usually ‘Just Follow Law’, I think there is a better way to tell us than to post it on a blog? Moreover, are click errors (let’s make it sound nicer, shall we?) are normally audited as and when they appear like what WB is doing to us now. We see red figures which indicated they aren’t the final figure and we see black when the figure is confirmed. Certainly, it mustn’t be allowed to pile up till publishers decide to demand payments? By then, wouldn’t that be months of click errors to deal with?
So, the sad thing is yes, we publishers/bloggers are always expected to ‘Just Follow Law’. You know
1) submit a support ticket, wait for one month,
2) if no reply, write a complaint letter,
3) if no respond, make a blog post
4) and if not enough action, ask some influential blogger and blow it loud loud. LOL
5) and finally…. you decide
**Just Follow Law is a very good movie from Singapore about the frustrations of living in a world govern by laws that impede development. If you have not watch it, you should. Get the original licenced DVD from a shop near you. *ahem*
Though I am not a publisher of Advertlets, I know the feeling of being shortchanged many times by new ads companies. I guess you can relate to this frustrations as well.

Yeah I felt shocked too when they mentioned it’s being audited due to “irregular click”. I mean it’s been cashed out man how can they audit something that I’ve already seen to be receiving? They need to work on their system fast before this blows into a bigger story.

Advertlets also promised to sponsor some event and did advertising in the event but refused to pay full amount of money as promised

Advertlets hasn’t pay me for my September earnings too! I visit Advertlets almost daily with the hope that the blog will post a post like ‘September Earnings Sent’ or something like that. I decided to wait, wait and wait until I read this post.
I didn’t know that so many Advertlets bloggers (at least three including me) are not getting paid for their September earnings until I read this post.
I remember Advertlets was net 30-45 so now is it net 56++!? Too bad, I requested earnings cashout for September, October and November and my account current earnings are eligible for another cashout.
What is the problem? I don’t mind getting cheque via regular mail if you can’t afford it. No one will shout at you if you decide not to send cheques via PosLaju since your dearest nearest competitor (as you call it) does not use PosLaju. Really, no one will shout at you if you pay us on time, or at least don’t be too late.
Click fraud?! Congrats for having such a cutting-edge technology to catch click fraud. If there is an option to turn off CPC, I will be the first to do so as to receive my cheques on time. Also, I’m very very (read: when I say very, I mean it) sure that I did not click on my own Advertlets ads. So, is my cheque delayed because my loyal readers repeatedly clicked my Advertlets ad? Cool, you blame me on the fraudulent clicks that you should filter off at the first place?
Note: I did not log any report using the “highly-efficient” support system because I was totally disappointed with the system since a few months back. Also, I did not send any mail to j so I do not know the reason my cheque was delayed. I was quite frustrated with the delay since I sleep with money, without money I cannot sleep…

omg! i had just posted how pissed off at advertlets i am and i saw this post!
They not only accused me of fraud the CEO was so blardy rude.
now i am getting pissed all over again!

I cash-out my earnings on Merdeka Day and 30 Sept and till now, I have yet to receive the cheque. I called up Josh twice but no action is taken.
I agree with Lilian that the support take one month to reply .. and usually, this is what I get from them :P
“I believe this problem is solved. I will close this ticket now. Do submit another ticket if you have other queries. Thank you.”

This is indeed worrying. I ‘cashout’ on advertlets two months ago and have yet to receive the cheque.

I am using both Advertlets and Blog2u and I quite like the pay it on the spot after I posted the banner. Don’t have to wait for any clicks. But I still prefer Advertlet over nuffnang where at least advertlet is all out trying to solve the frauds and nuffnang just keep quite about it.
