I have to say i identify with you/(& whoever is claiming Advertlets is scam) totally because I also have such an experience with Advertlets.

After I did a paid write up for Advertlets and posted the article on my blog, I wasn’t paid at all.

And I have written in to them so many times, but yet there was not a single news till now.

And did I mention that this issue happened 6 months ago?

Yup, till now, I have not heard from Advertlets, and I have since removed all the Advertlets ads on my blog!

Advertlets = SCAM!

the dashboard also cannot add more than 10 blogs. wat the fish. nuffnang one, you can

everytime i ask them question from support, takes at least 2 weeks for a reply minimum. their support needs a revamp too

anyway they say the new dashboard is coming out soon. i ask them when? well i’ll update you in 2 weeks time or so! haha

but they’re making me money, so who am i to complain

Actually I had a pretty slow day at work yesterday testing out my bug tracker system, basically a system that accepts software bug reports, so I ended up fooling around with Advertlets by applying my User Acceptance Test on that website.

I’m from a small software development house, but we don’t scrimp on testing. The pressure is the SAME anywhere you go and the turnover rate (people getting sacked for crappy work) is pretty high too as we have got standards to maintain.

All I can say is that Advertlets has, or had crappy developers and they probably have their teams of testers on permanent leave. Leaving users to test out their system and putting a beta moniker on it, is one way of showing that.

To lilian, thanks for linking up my post. It seems that Advertlets have solved the problem with a jury-rigged solution. Wonder how long that will hold.

As a programmer who wrote programs for some financial institution, I know how important security is. I also know the many hoops we have to jump thru and the massive headaches we have to endure to get our programs certified as secure enough to be used.

The opposite is true when I write programs for other companies like a startup business. It’s so much easier. The pressure is off since no one is looking over your shoulders and holes are rarely discovered. There will be plenty of security holes that are rarely discovered :)

Yup. I did advice the same thing in my blog many months ago. Don’t know how many people listened but I remember got one “Cikgu” commented said she will change. You more “powerful” than me so people will listen to you better.
