Adsense can earn money (Pendapatan melalui Adsense)

So you have heard people whine and whine that Adsense doesn’t make money. When you failed to do something, it is always good to garner support from others and get them to follow along your failed path. It is less lonely that way. But when someone who doesn’t even achieve their first USD100 payment from Adsense tells other to take off Adsense because it doesn’t make money, I am like WTF?

I personally have a few blog buddies whom I coached and they do see ads income. I do have access to a personal friend (wakaka) Adsense and using whatever I learnt, I do see income coming to this friend’s blog. Therefore, I have observed and analyzed Adsense somewhat thoroughly. I also have Adwords account and roughly knows how Adsense works. And no, we don’t depend on ‘kesian dan simpati klik’.

I was in contact with KahSoon, LiewCF and PaulTan for like 3 years ago and at that time, all of us were just beginning with our ‘My first Adsense cheque’ joy. Now, Paul is making good income, as what I overheard from the grapevine. His blog was mentioned on National News when Proton BLM was mentioned. Those are four digits income Malaysia per day. Sabahan too is another Adsense and Adwords expert and he also have his secret blogs that make money for him.

So, who says Adsense doesn’t make money?

For the first time, I shall reveal my Adsense income so that new bloggers are encouraged.

adsense

My Adsense account started from August 2005.

adsense2

I shall show you three of my blogs. That’s the page impression.

Now, let’s pause and hear what can cause a person’s account to be killed :

1) The same gang of friends clicking your blog every day because you hinted. They may have clicked it every day, hence, leaving a trail for Google to pick up.

2) Your child, wife, sister, colleagues who are using the same IP and same PC as you accidentally clicked on your site because you leave the page opened. I told one blogger from East Malaysia that could be the possibility because his account was suspended. He wrote an appeal and his account was reinstate again. When you have kids around, you have to make sure that your blog is never left open because those flashy ads always attract them.

I am sure Google has some system in place where they will immediately halt any multiple clicks. So, don’t waste time trying to kill someone’s Adsense by multiple clicking. It doesn’t work. Otherwise, everyone’s Adsense will be dead.

I think it is really foolish to try to compare our Adsense income with probloggers and those residing in overseas. Google’s payout is different. Those countries see better conversion, i.e. people who checked out the ads, buy something. Over here, we do not have the same kind of market so our per click is much less. Yes, 3 cents will add up to become USD3 or RM10. Compare that to our local advertisers, Goolge Adsense is still much better. We have no chance with affiliate programs so what other choices do we have then? Therefore, Adsense is the way to go.

adsense3

The above is the Adsense of three of my blogs. These may not be the same blogs I showed you in the second photo. Or it could be the same. It doesn’t matter. What matter is I do make USD6K from there. USD6K is RM18K. This is residual income. I enjoyed blogging, I earn some side income. And the side income is a lot of money to me.

So, now who said Malaysians cannot make money from Adsense?

It took me more than 1 year to see my first USD100. The next 100 takes about 6 months. Hopefully, it will take a shorter period for the next 100 ;)

USD6K for Adsense is a lot of money. Btw, is it per month? But for me it doesn’t matter right, that is still a lot of income. Thanks for the tips

yumyum, drooling. by the way, if you don’t mind sharing, what’s your average ctr? :D

    lilian

    (January 17, 2008 - 6:36 pm)

Klaw – CTR very low actually. About 3-7% average. But then, these are my real blogs, the kind which I blog for passion and not MFA sites.

wizard – LOL, not really a lot if you look at the date.

Terry – HOHOHO, of course not a month’s income! Otherwise, I will be the richest in Malaysia.

pablo – Trust me, once it takes off, it will grow and grow. Initially, the first year is hard but once you got into the groove, you will get yr payment monthly, in the four digit bracket, without trying too hard.

Ivy – Good. If you have a passion for some things, pump all the efforts and you will reap the rewards.

paris – The key is not to take those A-lister probloggers and compare because we are in a totally new ball game over here in Malaysia. After all, the exchange rate is 3.3 so we cannot complain much.

    KitKat – Great!

Lilian is right as Adsense income is real. I used to be a senior manager in one of those large multinational companies in Penang but has gone online full time for 5 years. Today, Adsense revenue beats my last gross paycheck anytime. I’m not on MFA, but purely content sites and a couple of blogs.

Even my 16 year old daughter gets a cheque every month (under my name as she is underage).

So learn from people like Lilian and you’ll be successful.

This is encouraging, though my revenue fr Adsense is meagre..not even USD1 each month. I’m trying to drive more traffic to my blog. I’ve signed up for PayPerPost few months ago, though it’s hard for me to grab the limited opportunities (due to my low page rank), but at least I’m earning more than Adsense! :D

    Hey Lilian,

I have been following your blog for a while now, and I’m inspired whenever you post how much you earned from your blogs! :D

Yes, Adsense can make your money, but I think not many people knows exactly how to do that. They write a blog, then place some Google ads, and expect money to flow in. I used that tactic, and my earning over two years period was a mere USD180+

And that’s for a site that has a huge following!

Right now I learning little tips here and there to boast my Adsense earning. And if you are going to share things that beginner bloggers like us can implement instantly, I will be the first one to do it! :)

Lol.. interesting read. I was never really into generating income from blogging since I hated sites which were infested with advertisements.

However, since I’ve tried signing up for Adsense few months ago for the heck of it, I’ve been happily receiving a cheque each month – and even happier now with the Western Union transfer. Too bad there is an Adsense clause which prevents us from sharing our site earnings, otherwise I’ll be glad to share mine too :p

    Yeah, Malaysia boleh!

this blog inspired me a lot. I love tweaking template and adsense placement and of course made some experiment on how to increase the traffic. the most important is the content itself. ” write your own original content and people who like it”. still learning
